Job purpose

To lead a team of Production Assistants to produce a variety of dram sets, liquid filled bottled products, pre-wrapped bottle stock, bottle completion and bottle re-work to specified targets, ensuring quality control and compliance with legal requirement.

Key responsibilities

Quality Control

  • Maintain strict QC rules for dram stock. All labels & liquid must meet the required legal standards while also being aesthetically pleasing
  • Ensure team output is compliant with company quality measures as follows:
    Legal - all labels and liquid (and duty stamps where applicable) must follow the strict legal requirements laid out by HMRC
    Aesthetically - all products produced by the dram line must be quality checked to ensure a near perfect product
    Manage HACCP designated to your department
  • Manage stock of all production consumables used by the team in any processes

People Management

Assist Production Manager to ensure KPIs are met as follows:

  • Supervise and plan a constant workflow for assembly line workers, prioritising certain tasks to meet any deadlines required
  • Train every team member on every task for cover in case of emergencies.
  • Recruit workers as and when required
  • Build strong, positive relationship with team members, managing their performance and behaviour
  • Hold formal reviews yearly, and informal reviews as and when required
  • Lead team meetings, ensuring everyone knows the plans laid out for the current workflow
  • Ensure all work produced by the team is all documented in the relevant Google Docs/Sheets
  • Ensure all processes are followed and updated as and when required

Essentials of the job

  • Ensure clear communication with other departments on relevant matters
  • Manage a range of Google Docs and make all relevant changes as needed
  • Print labels, cards and orders as required using the relevant systems
  • Take responsibility for maintenance and usage of all machinery and equipment used by the team
  • Carry out any additional tasks as required within your skillset

To support the Whisky Liquid Supervisor in the smooth running and success of all Whisky production on site, and support other departments as required

Essentials of the job

  1. Produce product to required specification, i.e. ABV, volume, outturn etc
  2. Carry out data entry on in-house production tracking logs
  3. Organise workload in relation to the targets expected
  4. Clean equipment after use
  5. Carry out daily quality control and calibration checks



Experience, skills and qualifications

  • PExperience in the spirits, distilling or brewing industry is desirable but not essential
  • BSc in Brewing or Distilling ideally required, although degrees in Engineering, Chemistry or Biology would be considered
  • Good understanding of IT, and preferably familiarity with Google Suite of apps
  • Good level of numeracy, with minimum National 5 Maths grade A-C / GCSE Maths grade A-C or equivalent
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English
  • Strong time management and organisation skills, with the ability to cope with multiple projects at the same time
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Counterbalance forklift certificate is desirable, but training will be given

Simply, to design award-winning artwork for That Boutique-y Gin Company within the core range, distillery collaborations and bespoke projects

Essentials of the job

  1. Produce early concept sketches, iterate designs and create final production assets
  2. Design and develop innovative artwork for labels and packaging.

  4. Manage and create artwork, making sure it fits in with the marketing and branding schemes for the product
  5. Make sure final artwork is up to the company’s expectation and ready for sign off

  8. Contribute creative ideas and input to project briefs including visual research

Experience, skills and qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a creative discipline and a strong educational background in design
  • Must have solid experience in illustration
  • Highly creative with an extensive portfolio of work
  • Strong skills within the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign) is essential
  • Excellent ability to manage and deliver high quality responses for projects to (sometimes tight) deadlines
  • Experience in working with internal clients to take projects briefs, with ability to uphold brand style guidelines to produce work to a suitable style

Job purpose

To manage projects and develop products and packaging by working with the NPD team to ensure a successful delivery of new and existing products, from conception all the way through to launch

Essentials of the job

  1. Responsible for identifying product specification requirements and ensuring that products meet technical, price and production parameters and are correctly costed.
  2. Within the team, assist in the management of new product specifications and design briefs.
  3. Manage multiple projects to tight timelines and to critical paths across a range of product formats.
  4. Act as an integral link between departments to ensure communication is incredibly strong and that all the relevant people are informed and working to aligned timelines.
  5. Agree production deadlines, launch timelines and prioritisation of product launches.
  6. Take responsibility for coordinating product processes in the department, including but not limited to: time integrated plans, pricing, sampling and determining product specifications.
  7. Develop plans to improve existing procedures to improve service, participating in interdepartmental working groups and planning meetings.
  8. Build and maintain excellent, ongoing relationships with contacts/colleagues to get the best out of them.
  9. Communicate product visions and timelines clearly, and manage the implementation of new projects.
  10. Involvement in the conception of products at the earliest stage, meeting with NPD management and determining the viability of a product including (but not limited to) pricing/profit margin aspects.
  11. Maintain an overview of the marketing/branding strategies of product launches.
  12. Seek developmental feedback of existing products/launches a
  13. Attend events/conferences, meet with producers and liaise with retailers in order to predict upcoming trends and new product opportunities. Feedback research to NPD management team.

Experience, skills and qualifications

  • Solid industry experience in product management and project management
  • Experience in dealing effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience in improving processes and procedures
  • Strong numeracy skills, with minimum grade B in Maths GCSE or equivalent, and preferably with Maths ‘A’ level or broadly equivalent - for example, a BTEC in Economics
  • Extremely strong time management and organisation skills, with the ability to work across multiple tasks and projects
  • Excellent research skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to be polite, charming, and respectful in emails and via telephone calls
