Atom Brands has received a haul of impressive awards at the recent Gin Masters across its Ableforth’s and That Boutique-y Gin Company portfolios.

The Gin Masters, now in its tenth year recognises exceptional gins from around the world, with a chaired panel of leading spirits and on-trade specialists judging expressions across multiple categories.

This year saw the medal count quadrupling compared to five years ago, with Atom Brands scooping six Master awards and six gold medals.

Ableforth’s received three Masters and three golds overall, coming top in the Contemporary, Navy Strength and Sloe Gin categories, while That Boutique-y Gin Company also took home three Masters and three golds, excelling in the Super Premium and London Dry groups.

In the Contemporary category, Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin - Navy-Strength was awarded a Master and commended by judges for its ‘delicious nose’ and ‘oaky, vanilla’ profile, while the Bathtub Gin picked up a gold medal in the same group.

Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin - Navy-Strength also picked up a Master in the Navy Strength category, with the panel enjoying its ‘clove, liquorice and aniseed’ character, while their Bathtub Gin - Cask-Aged, Navy-Strength took home a gold medal.

The third Ableforth’s Master medal went to the Sloe Gin, which came top of the Sloe Gin category and was praised for its ‘tannin and fruit balance, which added another layer to the drink’.

In the Super Premium category, That Boutique-y Gin Company took two top spots, with Master medals awarded for the Chocolate Orange Gin and Moonshot Gin respectively, and Moonshot being called a ‘standout’. This section also saw a gold medal awarded to Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin.

That Boutique-y Gin Company also triumphed in the competition’s biggest category - London Gin, picking up a Master for the Swedish Rose Gin and a gold for the Yuzu Gin. Judges commented on the exceptional standard of these gins, and explained that the category is becoming harder to judge due to the high quality.

Finally, two gold medals were awarded in the Flavoured Gin category to the Spit-Roasted Pineapple Gin and the Strawberry & Balsamico Gin, where judges commended the fact they had managed to capture fruit flavour with authenticity.

Atom Brands’ fantastic achievements come hot on the heels of a year of successful award wins, including recently being named Pre-Mixed Producer of the Year for The Handmade Cocktail Company in the International Spirits Challenge 2018.
